What is hydroponic terrace farming?
Hydroponic terrace farming grows vegetables on your rooftop without soil, using nutrient-rich water instead. Plants sit in channels or net pots, the nutrient solution circulates to their roots, and the whole system uses around 90% less water than soil farming. It suits Indian terraces well because it is lightweight, clean and does not need a garden.
How much does a hydroponic terrace farm cost in Sonipat?
The cost depends on the size of your terrace and the system used — a small balcony setup and a full rooftop farm are very different projects. RiseUp Hydroponics & Organics surveys your site first and shares clear, itemised costs before anything is built. Call or WhatsApp 086977 30513 for an estimate for your space.
Is hydroponically grown produce really pesticide-free?
Yes. Hydroponic systems are clean and controlled, so pest pressure is minimal and can be handled with biological controls rather than chemical sprays. Because you harvest at home, you know exactly what went into the food you eat.
What vegetables can I grow on a hydroponic terrace farm?
Lettuce, spinach, kale, basil, mint, coriander, Swiss chard, bok choy and cherry tomatoes all grow well in Sonipat and Delhi NCR conditions. We plant your first crop with seedlings from our own nursery at RiseUp Hydroponics and give you a simple nutrient schedule to follow.
Do you maintain the system after installation?
Yes. Maintenance is a core part of what we do — nutrient dosing, crop scheduling, system upkeep and replacement seedlings from our nursery, so your terrace farm keeps producing without becoming a chore.
Do you set up hydroponic labs for schools?
Yes. We design and install working hydroponic labs for schools and colleges as a living classroom for science, sustainability and food literacy, and we train the staff who run them. We also run CBSE Kaushal Bodh school programs at our farm — see our schools page for the full list.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Sonipat, Murthal, Kundli, Panipat, Rai, Gannaur, North Delhi and the wider Delhi NCR from our farm on NH 44 in Murthal. Our office is at Sector 19, Sonipat. If you are within reach of Sonipat, we can survey your terrace and quote for it.
Can I visit the farm before deciding?
Please do. RiseUp Hydroponics & Organics farm is on NH 44 in Murthal, next to Park Blue Hotel, and we are open 24 hours. Seeing working systems in person is the fastest way to understand what suits your space.
How long does installation take?
A home terrace or balcony system is usually installed in one to three days. Larger commercial projects take longer depending on structure and climate control — we give you a schedule with the quote, after the site survey.
How much time does it take to look after?
Around 10–15 minutes a day for a home system: checking water level, topping up nutrients and harvesting. We set the schedule up for you, and if you would rather not handle it at all, our maintenance service covers the dosing and crop planning.
What if I am travelling or away for a few weeks?
Hydroponic systems handle short absences well — the reservoir holds enough for one to two weeks depending on size and crop. For longer trips we can schedule a maintenance visit so nothing is lost while you are away.
Does it need direct sunlight?
Most leafy greens need four to six hours of good light a day, which a typical Sonipat terrace or balcony provides easily. For indoor spaces or darker corners we design with grow lights instead, and factor the running cost into your quote.
How much water and electricity does it actually use?
Water use is roughly 90% lower than soil growing because the nutrient solution recirculates instead of draining away. Electricity is minimal for outdoor systems — a small circulation pump running a few hours a day. Indoor systems with grow lights use more, which we tell you upfront.
Can I grow in summer? Sonipat gets very hot.
Yes, with the right crop plan. Summer suits heat-tolerant crops like amaranth, okra and certain basils, while lettuce and spinach do better from October to March. We match the crop schedule to the season so the system stays productive year round.
What happens if plants get sick or something goes wrong?
Call or WhatsApp us — most problems are nutrient or pH related and can be diagnosed from a photo and a reading. If it needs a visit, we come out. Clients on a maintenance plan get this as part of the service.
Do you supply nutrients and seeds after installation?
Yes. We supply crop-specific nutrients, growing media and seedlings from our own nursery at the farm in Murthal, so you are not hunting for supplies once the system is running.
Is hydroponic produce as nutritious as soil-grown?
Yes — nutrition comes from what the plant absorbs, and in hydroponics we control that precisely. Because you harvest at home rather than buying produce that has travelled and sat in storage, it is usually fresher than anything in the market.
Do you offer any warranty or after-sales support?
System components are covered against manufacturing defects, and we handhold you through the first full crop cycle as standard. Beyond that, ongoing maintenance is available as a separate service.
